1992-1993 – Officer in the Military Navy Forces of Azerbaijan Republic

1994-2003 – held various positions in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: Deputy chief of the 39th Police Department of Sabail district, Baku city, the chief of ferry crossing sector in the Main Transportation Police Department, the chief of Drug Enforcement Division of Binagadi District Police Department, the chief of the Criminal Investigation Division of Yasamal District Police Department

2003-2005 - Chief of the 16th Police Department of Narimanov district, Baku city, and is a police colonel-lieutenant

2005-2020 - Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan of III, IV, V and VI convocations

Since 2009 - the deputy chairman of the Defense and Security Committee of the CIS
