SOFAZ Investment Operations team members took part in the IFSWF (International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds) General Counsel Summit, jointly hosted by Baker McKenzie and GIC in Singapore. The three-day event brought together over 200 representatives from sovereign wealth funds and the private sector to discuss key topics such as global tax frameworks, AI risks and regulation, compliance practices, cross-border investments amid geopolitical shifts.

During the panel discussion “Compliance Function – Best Practices and Peer Knowledge Exchange,” Nigar Usubova, CFA, SOFAZ’s Compliance Manager, shared insights from the newly published SOFAZ–IFSWF report, “Compliance in Context: Governance Structures and Risk Priorities for Sovereign Wealth Funds.”

She highlighted how SOFAZ’s compliance function continues to evolve through data-driven processes, enhanced reporting, and technology-driven solutions, while emphasizing the value of external benchmarking in strengthening compliance frameworks.
